Find the broken video before the customer does.
Most bugs here are not exceptions. They are a caption half a second late, audio six decibels too quiet, or a language that renders as empty boxes. That is hard to catch with unit tests and easy to catch with someone who looks carefully.
What you will do
- Test the full path from upload to export: recording, script, voiceover, captions, translation, sharing, download.
- Build repeatable checks for what regresses quietly, such as audio loudness, caption timing and output resolution.
- Cover the languages we ship. A release is not done if it works in English and breaks in Tamil.
- Verify across browsers and screen sizes, including the recorder extension.
- Own the release checklist and keep it short enough that people actually run it.
- Reproduce customer reports precisely, then hand engineering a case they can fix against.
- Track which bugs escaped to production and why, so the checklist keeps improving.
What we look for
- A habit of reproducing a problem exactly before reporting it.
- Comfort with API testing and reading logs, not only clicking through a UI.
- Some scripting, in any language, to turn a manual check into an automated one.
- Clear bug reports: steps, expected, actual, and the artefact attached.
- Persistence with the intermittent failure everyone else has learned to ignore.
Nice to have
- Experience testing media, audio, or anything where correct is a judgement rather than a boolean.
- Playwright, Cypress or similar.
- Working across languages or writing systems you do not personally read.
